After dark - DoorDash
Senior Integrated Producer
Agency: Hard Work Club | Director: Nick Ball | Production: OPC / MJZ
DoorDash After Dark explores the weird, unpredictable world of late-night delivery through the eyes of the people who actually experience it - Dashers.
Built from real Dasher stories found online, the campaign taps into the strange things that happen after midnight, from dark rural roads and unexpected animal encounters to late-night diners and the very specific characters who come out after dark. The platform, “Nighttime’s a trip. Dashers can take it for you,” positions DoorDash as the easy answer when late-night cravings hit and you would rather stay exactly where you are.
The campaign came to life through two films, “The Hills Have Udders” and “Milkshakes & Heartaches,” written by Meghan Kraemer and directed/written by Nick Ball. Each spot created its own distinct nighttime world, balancing cinematic craft with the dry, slightly absurd humour that makes the situations feel just believable enough.
As Senior Integrated Producer, I led the campaign through production, working across agency, client, director and production partners to bring two ambitious creative worlds to life. My role spanned production strategy, budgeting and scheduling through pre-production, shoot execution, post-production, music negotiation, and final delivery across the campaign's broadcast, digital and social ecosystem.
With two very different films living under one platform, a big part of the production challenge was finding efficiencies behind the scenes while protecting the craft and individuality of each idea. That meant building the right production approach around the creative, managing multiple moving pieces and deliverables, and ensuring the ambition on the page carried through to the finished work.
The result is a cinematic, character-driven campaign that turns the normally unseen experience of late-night delivery into the story itself.
Recognition: Featured by LBB as part of its Work of the Week following the campaign's launch.
